Q: Are the members of the Community Policing Forum members of the Gardaì?
A: No. The members of the Community Policing Forum are not members of the Gardaì. They are independent development workers employed as part of a project funded by the North City and County Regional Drugs Task Force.
Q: What issues do the CPF deal with?
A: The CPF deal with drug and alcohol related issues, anti- social behaviour within local estates and community safety.
Q: What happens to the information we give?
A: Any information that is given to the CPF is dealt with in a confidential manner. Information can be passed on by the CPF to the relevant authorities on behalf of the community in confidence. The CPF will advise on the relevant authorities that this information should be passed on to.
Q: What happens at a public meeting?
A: The communities are invited to CPF public meetings to raise what issues they are experiencing in their community. At these public meetings, members of An Garda Sìochàna, Fingal County Council and the CPF will be in attendance to listen to these issues. An Garda Sìochàna and Fingal County Council will not be permitted to answer all issues raised at the public meeting. These issues are taken in minutes and are discussed and addressed at the Forum Board meetings.
Q: Do we get feedback?
A: Yes. After the Forum Board meetings the Community Representatives will feed back on all the issues that were raised at the public meeting.
Q: Who can attend a public meeting?
A: Anyone can attend the public meetings. If a public meeting is being held in your area, the CPF would urge you to come along to take the chance to voice what issues you are experiencing. If you want to be heard you have to be there!

Swords/Balbriggan Community Policing Fora is an independent body providing the community with an opportunity to identify and address local drug and alcohol problems and related anti-social behaviour in a co-ordinated way.
